Our lab provides a warm, intellectually stimulating environment where students from various backgrounds and disciplines, such as public health, communication, sociology, psychology, nursing, and environmental science, can investigate the structural and communicative roots of health inequities. We encourage breaking down disciplinary silos to build collective capacity through critical dialogue, reflexivity, and practice-based research.
We also connect with communities beyond the university, partnering with educators, local organizations, and global networks to share knowledge and co-create change. Our outreach efforts include:
Mentoring youth interns, including high schoolers.
Participating in roundtables, policy forums, and community workshops.
Providing timely, accessible information on health disparities and misinformation.
Working with journalists and advocates to raise awareness about emerging and stigmatized health issues, particularly those impacting marginalized groups.
