Del State Psychology Conference 2025

Dr. Rochelle was an invited speaker at Delaware State University’s Psychology conference on March 27, 2025: Decolonizing Black Psychology. She presented her work on The effect of Health Disparities on the well-being of Black Families and the development of Multilevel Community Interventions.

DCHC 2025

In April 2025, Ms. Daliah presented our learnings in collaborating with community leaders and practitioners in the field of sexual health and trauma at the D.C. Health Communication (DCHC) Conference. Presentation title:  A Transformative Communication Model that Fosters Trust and Advocacy between Community-Researcher Partnerships to Develop a Culturally Informed Sexual Health Social Media Intervention. This project is supported by the RWJF Health Equity Scholar for Action Grant.

APHA 2025

Last November at the Annual Public Health Association(APHA) Annual Meeting, Ms. Janell gave an oral presentation with Ms. Juliet Bonnah, Socio-Cultural and Systematic Factors Impacting Fertility Desire among Women Living with HIV: A Systematic Literature Review.  They represented our team’s collaboration with Dr. Michelle S. Williams, supported by GMU’s College of Public Health’s Pilot Funding. Presentation Title: The presentation led to the article, which was recently published in AIDS Care.

APHA 2025

Ms. Briana led a poster presentation, with Ms. Ashley, at the Annual Public Health Association(APHA) Annual Meeting (November 2025), sharing findings from our interviews with faith leaders in the Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia region titled: Faith, Trust, and Trauma: Exploring Faith Leaders’ Role in Sexual Trauma Education of Black Youth. Our poster was accepted by the Black Caucus of Health Workers. This project was supported by GMU’s Office of Research Innovation and Economic Impact,2023 ARIE Seed Funding Initiative.

NCFR 2025

Ms. Janell presented our paper, Between Power and Powerlessness: Black Parents Navigating Sexual Trauma and Risk Communication, at the National Council on Family Relations (NCFR) Annual Conference in Baltimore, MD, in November, 2025.

NCA 2025

At the annual National Communication Association (NCA) Conference (November, 2025), Dr. Rochelle and Dr. Comfort T. Adebayo were invited to present in a Spotlight Panel: Reimagining Women and Health Communication, their work on the application of Critical Race Theory and Intersectionality as critical theoretical frameworks to guide investigations of women’s health.
